Posting Description: NATURE OF WORK: Now recruiting for a full-time post-doctoral research position which will be responsible for research projects in the areas of Oncology/Molecular Biology with oversight and be provided minimal daily supervision from PI faculty and the position will provide training to faculty and staff in pre-clinical therapeutics development and Molecular Biology. There will be an emphasis on molecular biology, non-coding RNAs, breast cancer initiating cells and treatment resistance. Bioinformatic skills are not required however would offer an advantage. This research position reports directly to Peter Kabos MD, PI of a breast cancer research lab in the Division of Medical Oncology. The lab is located on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. The position is a faculty research position with the primary duties to conduct research and is not involved in the instructional program. The position is not eligible for tenure. Specific job duties and responsibilities will include: -Daily research laboratory bench work skills, moderate lifting of research laboratory supplies, handling of research laboratory animals and good hand to eye coordination. -Supervision exercised for Research Assistant and Sr. Research Assistant lab positions; -Protein/mRNA/DNA extraction, processing and analysis; -Execution of molecular biology assays; -Processing and management of patient tissue samples (PBMC's, serum, normal tissues, tumor tissues) from phase I/II clinical trials. -Gene-expression and genomic-based platform use and understanding; -Cell line maintenance; in vitro efficacy testing, proliferation testing; -Collaboration with other laboratories including PIs, post-docs, or professional research assistants; The successful applicant will prepare research presentations; train and supervise laboratory personnel or students in experimental techniques and complete research projects including preparing written manuscripts and submission for publication. Also, must be willing to learn relevant techniques from the PI and other personnel and function with reasonable level of independence. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Ph.D. degree in the biological sciences or related degree or MD. Experience/Skills: Proven experience working with research laboratory animals, working knowledge using a wide range of molecular and cellular biology techniques. Cell culture, biochemistry and molecular biology expertise required. -Excellent communication and organizational skills. -A Publication Record.
