Posting Description: *Department Information:* The Academic Technology Consulting and Outreach unit within the Office of Information Technology (OIT) leads and contributes to teams that rapidly implement and evaluate digital education initiatives. ATCs work closely with campus schools, colleges and faculty leaders to pilot new technology learning opportunities and provide expertise in instructional design, project management, and assessment of emerging educational innovations. The unit provides consultative advice on using educational technologies, and addresses questions on how to use educational technologies which may include (but are not limited to) Desire2Learn, iClickers, Qualtrics, VoiceThread, Adobe products, and other tools used to create digital teaching artifacts. *Job Responsibilities:* The Academic Technology Consultant (ATC) supports CU Boulder's mission of building a 21st century learning environment by strategically partnering with faculty members to effectively prototype and creatively implement emerging educational technologies. As an expert in using technologies effectively for teaching and learning, the ATC provides guidance to campus school, colleges and faculty in the design, project management and assessment of emerging educational innovations. Responsibilities of this position include: * Build and maintain relationships within the academic community and identify learning technology projects that advance the teaching mission of CU-Boulder. * Coordinate and manage nascent digital educational pilots and initiatives while partnering with key faculty, school and college leadership. * Define, scope, design, prototype and evaluate high priority instructional technology solutions to enable strategic school, college or campus academic initiatives. * Evaluate prototype solutions for their teaching and learning efficacy as well as support implications. Participate on OIT project teams to represent user- and support needs and make recommendations for using learning technologies. * Conduct a full investigation into a project by identifying available resources, scope, and timeline for the early evaluation of high-potential digital education opportunities. * Lead or contribute to OIT projects to develop teaching and learning services, playing the key roles of instructional designer, academic technology expert, and project manager within a project team. Serve as a liaison between OIT and key campus faculty and leadership on current and future academic technology trends. * Facilitate the effective transition of successful projects into campus and OIT support infrastructure, including design of sustainable workflows and documentation * Participate in development of new services and testing of new technologies. *Salary and Benefits:* Starting annual salary - $60,000 to $62,000 The University of Colorado offers excellent benefits, including medical, dental, retirement, paid time off, tuition reimbursement and ECO Pass. Minimum Qualifications: *Minimum Qualifications:* Master's degree or 18 credit hours of PhD-level coursework which includes experience teaching within a post-secondary institution and utilizing educational technology OR a master's degree or 18 credit hours of PhD-level coursework in education, educational technology, instructional design, academic technology, educational media, adult learning or related field of study.
Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: *Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:* Knowledge and application of effective pedagogy and uses of academic technologies and collaborative and assessment tools. Ability to navigate an academic environment or equivalently complex organization, especially in developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. faculty, administrators, and staff). Ability to act as a consultant to faculty and leadership on the use of academic technologies in teaching, research, and creative works. Excellent communication, collaboration, time management, and presentation skills. Strong leadership skills.
Desired Qualifications: *Preferred Qualifications:* _Preferred qualifications may be used to further reduce the pool of applicants to those who are most highly qualified._ Ph.D. or progress toward a Ph.D. Experience in instructional design or in the deployment of educational technology. Experience providing academic or instructional technology user support. Project management knowledge, skills, and training. Experience with small, nimble project teams, project planning, and creative problem solving in a limited resource environment.
