Posting Description: The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies (GES) at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Geographic Information Science, beginning August, 2014. The candidate will teach Introduction to GIS and advanced GIS courses such as internet GIS, programming, database design, and/ or geovisualization. Other teaching options depend on individual areas of expertise. Candidate must maintain an active research agenda. We seek a candidate to foster cross-campus collaborations and bridge the link between the university and the regional GIS community. We have a suite of geospatial software and lab facilities, a dynamic faculty, over 250 undergraduate majors and 25 MA students, and a setting that offers many opportunities for geographic research.
