This position is to provide support in the area of student conduct functions and education by hearing university student conduct cases and developing educational programs and orientation information in regards to expectations and values of student conduct in the residence halls and in the university.
Responsibilities:
55% Conduct Officer
- Provide oversight for the adjudication of the nonacademic student conduct code violations in residence life.
- Serve as a university conduct officer at the suspension level for select cases.
- As a university hearing officer, adhere to code of conduct due process standards which must be compliant with Colorado State Statues and federal laws including, but not limited to, FERPA and Title IX.
5% Human Resource Management:
- Support and assist in the selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of student affairs focused, professional and classified staff in Residence Life.
- Train, supervise, and provide assistance in conduct performance reviews and staff development of live-in/on residence hall directors and area coordinators to support the strategic goals and initiatives of the department.
- Assist hall director and area coordinators to prepare to lead at the mid-level in a college or university setting.
- Assist in the Co-supervise and conduct performance reviews of state classified administrative assistants.
Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications): -Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
-Two years of full time, professional experience adjudicating student cases in a university setting
-Experience working in a residence hall or apartment life organization in a university setting
-Must have demonstrated ability in organizing and facilitating student development programs and operational responsibilities
-Supervision and leadership experience within a university setting
-Demonstrated commitment to social justice
-Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative supervisory and collegial working relationships
-Operational knowledge of technology, computer programs, and budgets
Desired Qualifications: -Master's degree in higher education administration, student personnel administration, counseling, or a related field
-Three to five years of full time, professional experience adjudicating cases in a university setting
-Basic knowledge and understanding of assessment and evaluation in student affairs
