About The Unit: The Families and Communities Research Group (FCRG) at the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration is hiring Ethnographers to conduct qualitative interviews.
Unit Job Summary: Ethnographer: Responsible for initial recruitment and completion of interviews with eligible residents across four Chicago neighborhoods. Interviews will occur daily during late afternoon/evening hours and weekends. Ethnographers will be expected to conduct 8-10 interviews per week. Ethnographers are required to participate in training and will meet weekly with the team.
Unit Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Masters degree preferred.
Unit Experience: Experience engaging participants from high-risk populations to participate in research studies required.
Experience collecting qualitative data required.
Experience analyzing qualitative data; knowledge of Atlas.ti preferred.
Unit Job Function Competencies: Highly motivated, hard-working, and professional yet approachable demeanor required.
Comfortable working with diverse program participants, including visits to families' homes is required.
Access to a car and the ability to travel regularly to Woodlawn, North Lawndale, and Hyde Park is required.
Flexible schedule required.
Late afternoon/evening and weekend availability required.
