About The Unit: The Section of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation provides care for patients and families with acute and chronic medical conditions, or other hematologic diseases requiring the specialty knowledge and skills of Hematology/Oncology.
Unit Job Summary: Administrative Assistant: Reports to the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Director and Operations Manager. Provides general administrative support for the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program and Section. Assist the Fellowship Director with insuring that all section related requirements and evaluations for tumor board, hematology conference, journal club and noon didactic seminars are completed on time and appropriately documented per ACGME requirements. Assist with creating marketing materials including assembling packets for distribution to fellowship candidates. Arrange section based orientation for fellows, process reimbursements to fellows. Maintain and update the section's website insuring accuracy and integrity of its content. Triage patient related inquiries and route to the appropriate provider for follow-up. Coordinates meetings and visits for faculty recruitment. Responsible for processing all Medical Staff Office credentialing and re-credentialing applications, supports the Operations Manager with the re-appointment process for faculty as it relates to clinics onsite and offsite practices. Performs high level administrative duties in support of office functions, manages special projects in the section as defined by the Operations Manager.
Unit Education: Bachelor's degree or a minimum of three years of progressively responsible administrative experience, required.
Unit Experience: A minimum of three years administrative experience, required.
Experience with software applications (e.g., Outlook, MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, Med-Hub, PC, Apple, GEMS, BuySite, EPIC knowledge, preferred.
