Institutional Research Analyst

Under the supervision of the Director of Budget, Personnel, and Analysis, the Institutional Research Analyst assists the Graduate Division in maintaining and analyzing the data and systems necessary to make sound administrative and academic decisions. Responsibilities include: conducting data analysis to support various functions of the Graduate Division; assisting in the design and implementation of research into issues affecting graduate education at the University; collaborating with and providing user training for other staff to produce reports on aspects of graduate education. Responds to requests from campus departments, Office of the Chancellor, UCOP and other organizations for reports and information relevant to graduate academic planning.
Qualifications
- Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodology, especially as it relates to higher education and graduate student development settings.
- Extensive training and experience in complex data analysis, documentation and data modeling.
- In depth working knowledge of SPSS, and other statistical software.
- Strong set of broad technical skills and expertise with data management software including Access, Crystal Reports, Excel, ProCite, PowerPoint, Word and other comparable software to analyze, organize and present data.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse body of staff, faculty and administrators.
