The Department of Comparative Literature at UC Irvine seeks a Lecturer to teach one course in Winter quarter, 2014 (1/2/14 to 3/21/14), at an annual base salary of $45,975 (total compensation for course will be $5,746.88). We are interested in candidates with the ability to teach an interdisciplinary introductory humanities breadth course for non-humanities majors using comparative methodology. Interests in film, ethnic studies, critical theory and/or other interdisciplinary areas are desirable as well as a topic with a broad appeal to non-humanities students. (Previous offerings have included reading zombies, reading witch literature, reading cyborgs.) Please submit suggested syllabus.
Requirements - Ph.D. required; teaching experience required.
