Position Title: Assistant Professor

Position Summary:

Primary duties will include the teaching of a wide range of classes in music history and musicology at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including undergraduate surveys. Maintain active scholarly production suitable for a research institution; serve on graduate student advisory committees; direct theses and other research projects when appropriate.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

The School of Music at The University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applicant must have documented performing and teaching experience at an artistic level, with appropriate terminal degrees earned. (Master’s degree required, Doctorate preferred, although significant and documented performance experience will be considered in place of earned degree(s).
