Position Title: Associate/Full Professor

Position Summary:

  • Provide visionary leadership
  • Serve as an academic and administrative officer,
    collaboratively establishing the mission, objectives, and
    strategic plans for the Department of Curriculum and
    Instruction
  • Lead and coordinate curriculum/program development and
    support service efforts
  • Attend to the daily operations of the Department
  • Assess departmental performance, focusing on high
    academic standards
  • Assist three program chairs in creating annual class
    schedules
  • Develop budgets and manage departmental financial
    accounts
  • Conduct faculty and staff evaluations
  • Teach courses in one or more of the departmental program
    areas
  • Seek external funds
  • Serve on college, university, and state committees and
    councils

Position: Associate/Full Professor and Department Head of Curriculum and Instruction [9-Month Appointment, Summer Supplement]

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in a specialization in the Department
  • At least three, full-time years of classroom teaching
    experience at the K-12 level, preferably in public schools
  • Proven record of leadership, teaching, research, service,
    and successful external funding activities that would
    warrant the rank of professor or associate professor and
    tenure in the department
  • Ability to teach courses in a specialization in the Department
  • Ability to work effectively with people in a variety of
    educational settings, on and off campus
  • Previous administrative/leadership experience at the
    program or department level
  • Previous experience with accreditation and certification
    processes in K-12 education
  • Knowledge of curriculum requirements and trends in the
    programs included in the Department

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
