Position Title: Assistant Professor

Position Summary:

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in comparative politics. Pursue an active research agenda leading to publication of peer-reviewed articles and books in appropriate venues. Provide service to the University community and professional organizations.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

The Department of Political Science invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Comparative Politics beginning August 16, 2013. The successful candidate should have a strong research agenda that applies rigorous methods to important theoretical questions. Candidates with regional or country expertise in the areas of Latin American, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and East Asia are particularly encouraged to apply. We would welcome those who are prepared to teach graduate courses in research methods, in addition to courses in their substantive areas of interest. The University of Alabama is the flagship campus of the University of Alabama system, and offers the B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in Political Science. A completed Ph.D. is required for appointment at the level of Assistant Professor. To apply, go to https://facultyjobs.ua.edu and complete the online application.
