Position Summary: The Department of Consumer Sciences, College of Human Environmental Sciences at The University of Alabama is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor teaching position. This is a non-tenure earning, renewable position. The department offers a bachelor's degree in Consumer Sciences with concentrations in family financial planning and counseling, and consumer affairs and a master's degree with either a focus in family financial planning and counseling or consumer economics. The successful candidate will assume responsibilities that include developing and teaching courses both in the classroom and online for both the undergraduate and graduate programs; advising and mentoring of students; participating in service activities that support the strategic plan of the College of Human Environmental Sciences.
Minimum Preferred Qualifications: Qualified candidates for this position are expected to have completed the doctoral degree in family resource management, family economics, family financial planning and counseling or a closely related field, and by the beginning of this appointment demonstrated excellence in teaching. This is a non-tenure earning, renewable position. It is renewable for three year periods at the discretion of the University, and is based on need, funding, and performance.
