Animal Care Attendant
The Animal Care Department supports the Foster Hospital for Small Animal's mission by providing general housekeeping services insuring care and comfort for all the dogs, cats and exotic pets which are admitted.
General housekeeping and ward maintenance, animal care and feeding in the Small Animal Hospital. Other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements: High School Diploma or the equivalent with up to one year of related experience. Basic computer skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications: Technical training or Associates Degree in veterinary technology field preferred with one to three years of experience. Ability to effectively work as member of a team. Knowledge of animal behavior, restraint, feeding and basic sanitation. Pride in maintaining assigned areas in hospital environment.
Special Work Schedule Requirements: Schedule includes both University and calendar holiday coverage. This position is considered essential and is therefore required to report to work as scheduled during inclement weather as well as emergency campus and hospital closings.
