This job expired 2 weeks ago.Towson University seeks a creative and dynamic Emerging Technologies Librarian who will be responsible for technology initiatives and web-based services for the Research and Instruction Department.
This librarian will investigate, design, and implement technologically innovative information services and applications; create, coordinate and facilitate the use of online instructional materials, tutorials and other digital learning objects; and contribute to library-wide IT initiatives. As a member of the research and instruction team, this librarian will also provide research assistance, consultation and library instruction to the campus community. In addition, this librarian will serve as a liaison and subject specialist in assigned disciplines. Appointment: This is a 12-month library faculty position on the permanent status track. Librarians are expected to progress successfully along the promotion and permanent status track and participate fully as members of the library faculty. Appointment will be made at the rank of Librarian I; salary is competitive. Qualifications: MLS from an ALA-accredited institution. Proficiency with a range of web authoring tools; experience utilizing social networking applications for library services, creating dynamic web content and working with digital media; ability to design and implement innovative information services. Strong commitment to information literacy, public service and support of the academic and research needs of students and faculty. Ability to work in a collaborative environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with developing mobile applications and/or knowledge of gaming technologies a plus!
