The Sr. Research Analyst will provide research support and independent data analysis in support of Enrollment Management's strategic planning and decision-making activities. Responsibilities include: designing and conducting analytical studies including determination of appropriate research methodology, statistical techniques, and collection of data; collection, compilation, validation and analysis and management of both academic and financial data in preparation for the reporting to internal audiences. The successful candidate will work with a team of administrators and data analysts responsible for reporting and analyzing institutional and business process data. In addition to responding to data requests, responsibilities also include the preparation of reports of key performance indicators and other business performance data. The Sr. Research Analyst will work collaboratively with other offices to access institutional and business process data from the University's administrative system (Banner) for business process modeling and development of Enrollment Management models. The Sr. Research Analyst will also assure validity and quality of data by performing the following duties: create and maintain operational reports; conduct research to assist strategic planning and decision-making; process, clean, and prepare data for statistical analysis and predictive modeling; analyze data utilizing standard statistical methods and software; prepare reports, tables, graphs, and other data visualization including a narrative description of research results; organize, administer, and compile opinion and other surveys for internal purposes.Performs others duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience in social sciences, statistics, educational research, business intelligence or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Required Skills and Abilities:
*Demonstrated ability to write analytical and technical reports.
*Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and application software (e.g., SPSS/PAWS, SAS, etc.).
*Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets, relational databases, and SQL.
*Strong statistical and analytical skill set.
*Demonstrated expertise with Oracle and/or MySQL environments.
*Demonstrated written and oral communication skills along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals.
*Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
*Ability to work in a fast paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and work independently, as well as part of a team with a commitment to detail and accuracy.
*Experience with Ellucian Banner (or similar ERP).
*Experience with student, admissions, and financial aid data reporting and analysis.
*Experience with Toad Data Point.
*Experience with Cognos, Hyperion or equivalent data warehouse environment.
