SAT Instructor Part-Time

* * * PART-TIME * * * * * * * * * * THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION * *

The SAT Instructor will assess the extent and knowledge of student's skills in standardized test taking. Teach a broad based course to increase student's math, reading, writing, & test taking ability. Teach students the skills and knowledge to excel on the SAT. Performs other duties as assigned.

**Must be able to work Tuesday-Saturday during the academic year and Monday-Friday during the summer scheduled hours; Saturday a full work day**

Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a teaching area. Minimum of one (1) year of experience (or equivalent part-time experience). An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:
*Experience working with high school students from diverse backgrounds, including those from a low-income, first generation college background.
*Experience teaching all areas of the SAT and standardized test preparation.
*Experience in developing course curriculums (creating lesson plans and activities).
*Experience in tutoring students having academic trouble.
*Must have excellent oral, written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
*Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast paced environment.
*Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

Preferred:
*Previous experience in overcoming academic and/or economic barriers is helpful.
