Temple University's Student-Athlete Academic Advising & Support Center (SAAASC) is responsible for providing comprehensive academic support services for Temple's over 565 student-athletes on 24 intercollegiate sports. Under the guidance of Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies, the SAAASC's mission is to help student-athletes reach their academic potential through efficient degree planning, major exploration, learning support, academic coaching/mentoring and tutorial services. Working under the supervision of the Director of the Student-Athlete Academic Advising & Support Center, the Academic Advisor 1 position will be responsible for providing the requisite proactive and developmentally appropriate academic support services for the assigned population of student-athletes. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
Master's degree and at least six months advising experience in an academic setting in higher education. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:
* Demonstrated interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with students in group settings.
* Ability to work with automated student information systems.
* Demonstrated computer skills to include: Microsoft Office Suite
* Basic understanding of pertinent NCAA bylaws and continuing eligibility standards.
* Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as necessary.

Preferred:
* Previous experience working with student-athletes in a Division I academic support setting.
