The Department of Vocational Teacher Preparation at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Career & Technical Education.

Date of Appointment: Position will commence in August 2014.
Description of Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include teaching both online and live undergraduate and graduate vocational teacher preparation courses (at SUNY Oswego or Metro Center in Syracuse), student teaching supervision, and student academic advisement. An active scholarship agenda and professional service (including committee assignments) are expected.
In addition, this position will be expected to display a demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship, commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate education, and possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.
Required Qualifications: Doctorate or ABD in Career & Technical Education or related discipline (degree within two years of appointment) with CTE teaching experience and some occupational work experience in trade or technical education, family and consumer science, or health science fields. The person will demonstrate: strong organizational, management and interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, computer skills, and a commitment to promote students’ ability to succeed in a multicultural and global community. Must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills; must have a broad knowledge and background of career and technical education.
