The SUNY Geneseo Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation, a part of the Division of Student and Campus Life, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Head Coach for Men's and Women's Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field.
This full-time, 10 month, full-benefits position will coordinate and oversee all aspects of the men's and women's indoor and outdoor track & field programs. The SUNY Geneseo Track & Field programs have garnered 27 SUNYAC championships and produced 38 All-Americans including four national champions. The selected candidate is responsible for administering all aspects of this highly-successful program with specific duties including, but not limited to: effective recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes; individual skill development of student-athletes; scheduling; budget preparation and management; participation in department fundraising, community service, and alumni engagement efforts; monitoring academic performance; and related work as required. The Head Coach is also expected to adhere to all NCAA, SUNYAC and SUNY Geneseo rules and regulations.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Starting Date: August 1, 2014
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree; prior coaching experience at the collegiate level.
Preferred qualifications: Master's degree; minimum of 3-5 years coaching experience at the collegiate level; demonstrated ability to recruit and retain student-athletes who are committed to academic and athletic excellence. The ideal candidate will also have strong interpersonal, organizational and written/oral communication skills as well as proven leadership ability and experience coaching all track and field events.
