SUNY Geneseo seeks applicants for a new professional position in Residence Life: Coordinator of Residential Education. Successful applicants will have faculty teaching experience in a subject area offered at SUNY Geneseo (STEM discipline preferred); a Masters degree (doctorate preferred) in that subject area; and a commitment to the education of the "whole student," demonstrated by experience integrating college students' academic and co-curricular lives.
The Coordinator of Residential Education is a professional, twelve-month position within the Division of Student and Campus Life. The coordinator reports to the Dean of Residential Living and will have primary responsibility for the administration and assessment of academic programs run in the residence halls, including the residential college (RC) houses (Dante House, EcoHouse, Writers House) and the Physics, Biology, and Education living-learning community (LLC) in Monroe Hall.
The coordinator's additional responsibilities include: participating (with the Dean, the Assistant Director, and the Associate Director of Residence Life) in the administration of the Department of Residence Life, including attending all staff meetings, serving on the on-call rotation, and contributing to departmental policy decisions; supervising two or three professional staff members; assisting Area Coordinators (ACs) and Residence Directors (RDs) coordinate their residential curriculum models by creating collaborative programs with faculty participating in the RC house or LLC; assisting with placements and checking the academic qualifications for applicants to the LLC, in coordination with faculty and the Dean of the College; assessing the residential academic programs, in coordination with the Dean of Residential Living.
Depending on the successful candidate's level of experience, the coordinator will have informal or formal academic advising responsibilities, teaching opportunities (a one-credit hour section of INTD 102 the Residential College Seminar) and opportunities to work collaboratively with another department in the division of Student and Campus Life.
Other duties may be assigned as residential academic areas develop.

The workday for the Coordinator of Residential Education is basically 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. Because this position requires occasional evening and weekend work, those hours are moderately flexible, by mutual agreement of the employee and the Dean of Residential Living.
