The Miriam B. & James J. Mulva Library at St. Norbert College seeks a creative and energetic Information Literacy and Instruction Librarian. The successful candidate will demonstrate an innovative passion for and strong commitment to student learning of critical thinking skills via information literacy competencies and will be responsible for formal and informal activities that will strengthen the number of graduates with increased life-long information skills. The incumbent will lead development of rubrics, assignments, and learning objects that can be integrated into courses, academic programs, and co-curricular initiatives. Faculty status for this position is under discussion.

St. Norbert College, classified as a national liberal arts college by the Carnegie Foundation, is a dynamic institution that is rapidly rising in national rankings. The College is located in De Pere, Wisconsin, a vibrant community of 20,000 situated within metropolitan Green Bay (population 300,000). Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction in-person and online (synchronous & asynchronous) using best practices for learning, teaching, and information literacy
• Build upon the strengths of the existing program while imprinting the program with your own vision and adaptions to the changing college Core curriculum and majors
• Collegially seek close collaboration with faculty and college personnel to achieve information literacy learning outcomes in demonstrable ways
• Oversee the creation and continued development of learning objects, including tutorials and multimedia projects, for critical thinking and information literacy learning objectives
• Promote student success and retention through advocacy of use of library services and resources

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Knowledge and understanding of best practices in pedagogy and information literacy standards.
• Strong commitment to information literacy instruction, and demonstrated aptitude for teaching in multiple formats.
• Demonstrated experience in providing instructional design solutions within an LMS such as Moodle.
• Skill in program development, implementation, assessment, and evaluation
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
• Experience working in an academic library.
• Preferred: Formal learning of educational technology, instructional technology, and/or instructional design demonstrated through coursework, certificate or advanced degree.
