St. Norbert College invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education beginning August 2014. A Ph.D. is preferred; ABD will be considered.
The successful candidate will have strong teaching and research skills in one or more of the STEM education disciplines, with area(s) of specialization open. The successful candidate will teach courses in STEM education content and pedagogy, educational technology, and other appropriate areas; assist in supporting the technology needs and services for Education students at St. Norbert College; and collaborate with SNC Technology Services and P-12 school partners as appropriate.
The successful candidate will also be expected to engage in scholarly research; advise students; and provide appropriate service to the college and community. We also will look for the successful candidate to provide leadership in these areas as the Education discipline engages in continuous improvement of its programs as required by the state of Wisconsin.
Qualifications in one or more of the following areas also would be advantageous:
• Experience working in and/or with P-12 schools; teaching license in an appropriate area preferred but not required,
• Ability to teach special methods courses in science and/or mathematics,
• Ability to teach courses in educational assessment,
• Interest/skills in assisting with the continuous assessment process for the Education discipline at SNC.
