Field Office Coordinator
Voyage: 2015 Fall
General Responsibilities: The Field Office Coordinator is responsible for the operation of the shipboard Field Office. Specific duties include:
-Organizing all Field Office work
-Supervising two Assistant Coordinators and three student workers
-Publicizing and promoting field programs to the shipboard community
-Coordinating program delivery with home office staff and in-port operators
-Assisting with pre-port preparations
-Dispatching trips in port
-Reporting to the Assistant Executive Dean and being a member of the Support Services team
-Prior to departure, participating in regularly scheduled conference calls
Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred
Previous service as Semester at Sea staff preferred
Previous work with academic programs in higher education preferred
International travel experience
Staff management experience
Significant customer service experience
Sales and marketing skills
Experience with database management tools
The ability to create an environment where students feel free to ask questions and obtain assistance
Flexibility and a mindset of getting things done essential
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the capacity to relate effectively with Program constituents
Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
Ability to exercise good judgment on a range of issues
