The College of Sciences and Technology invites applications for a tenure-track forensic science position at the Assistant Professor level. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in forensic science, forensic biology, forensic chemistry and chemistry; involvement in professional service, grant writing, scholarly activities, community and vigorous undergraduate research also included. The program is designed to meet the standards of the Forensic Science Education Program; the candidate will teach classes that will include basic and advanced courses. High quality instruments are available for teaching and research, including a JEOL ECX 300 MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectrometer, Spectrophotometer and Fluorescence BioMelt, JASCO Circular Dichroism spectrometer, Bio-Rad Biologic DuoFLow FPLC system, Applied Biosystem DNA sequencer, Thermo Electron Polaris Q – GC/MS, CEM Microwave System, Shimadzu Prestige FT-IR, Isolera-4 Flash Chromatography Purification System, Ballistic bombardment device (gene gun), thermal cyclers for PCR, growth chambers, CO2 Incubator, transfer hoods and several other pieces of equipment needed for teaching and research. An Earned PhD. In Chemistry, Forensic or a related area is required. Postdoctoral experience preferred. Teaching and professional experience are highly desirable. Background and/or credit check may be required.
