Educational Experience Requirement: Ph.D. or terminal degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Technology, Computer Science or a related field. Three years of experience in course development and instructional design using emerging technologies or related experience is required. Experience with Blackboard Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning planning and implementation, program development and marketing, an earned degree in agriculture or a related discipline, and a history of successful grant writing is preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature and Purpose of Position: Provides technical service and leadership in developing courses and assessment instruments for courses to be taught in a sustainable agriculture master's degree program.
Primary Responsibilities: Develops on-line master's level courses with input provided by appropriate faculty members. Works with faculty and student employees to develop online courses and design suitable assessment instruments for a graduate program in sustainable agriculture. Designs, develops, and implements instructional multi-media products. Consults with faculty members regarding course content and instructional design. Performs recruiting and marketing. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications: Must possess ability to work in collaboration with others and have strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Skills with current computer technologies and familiarity with electronic, web-based Learning Management Systems are essential. Candidate must have a strong commitment to graduate education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Must have excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work in and manage teams, and possess familiarity with electronic, web-based Learning Management Systems. This is a temporary position, expected to end on or before one year from hire date.
