Educational Experience Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Computer Science, Education or related field is required. Minimum of three years of experience in course development and instructional design using emerging technologies or a combination in any of the following: web page development, computer multimedia, and computer use support. Experience with Blackboard Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning planning and implementation is preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature and Purpose of Position: Assists and supports faculty in the development and implementation of web-based courses and design of suitable assessment instruments for a graduate program in sustainable agriculture.
Primary Responsibilities: Consults with faculty members regarding course content and instructional design. Assists and supports faculty in the development and implementation of web-based courses and design of suitable assessment instruments for a graduate program in sustainable agriculture. Assists in the design, development, and implementation of instructional multi-media products. Provides marketing, recruiting, audio and video service and support for faculty. Consults with faculty members to determine appropriate technology and strategies for course delivery. Enters data provided by appropriate faculty members and information provided by Postdoctoral Project Coordinator in Distance Education staff. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications: Must possess the ability to work in collaboration with others and have strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Skills with current computer technologies and familiarity with electronic, web-based Learning Management Systems are essential. Must have a strong commitment to online graduate education and interdisciplinary collaboration. This is a temporary position, expected to end on or before one year from hire date.
