Job Description: The Department of Biology at Salem State University seeks a full-time laboratory instructor beginning in September 2013. Teaching assignments include introductory biology laboratory sections as well as laboratory sections in microbiology and anatomy and physiology.
Duties also include the teaching and specialized preparation of biology laboratories as assigned, prepare laboratory materials and equipment for experiments, and maintain inventory of materials for the labs. Other duties include setting up and grading examinations, quizzes and laboratory reports.
Required Qualifications:
A Master's in Biology; and experience in teaching college level biology laboratories
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in and a commitment to teaching in a multicultural, multiracial environment with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles; and experience with instructional (course management systems such as BlackBoard, Canvas) and laboratory technology (microscopy, chromatography, spectrophotometry).
