Job Description: One year Full-Time Temporary Computer Science faculty to teach all levels of computer science and introductory information technology courses. Outstanding applicants in all areas of computer science will be considered with special consideration given to applicants with an expertise and interest in networking, multithreaded and parallel programming techniques, scripting, robotics, embedded systems, and security.
In addition to teaching and scholarship, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to curriculum enhancement in computer science disciplines, perform professional development activities in computing disciplines, and contribute to the department.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
a. Clear vision for the future of the computing field in general and the computer science discipline in particular.
b. Commitment to the teaching-learning process in a four-year institution.
c. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
d. Willingness to apply latest computing technology and
innovative approaches to teaching.
e. Experience in and a commitment to teaching in a multicultural, multiracial environment with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. or ABD with significant progress in computer science or closely-related field; ability to teach all levels of computer science courses and introductory information technology courses; fluency in both object-oriented and procedural programming paradigms.
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive professional experience in computer science or closely related field; expertise and interest in developing Computer Science curriculum at the undergraduate level; experience in teaching all levels of computer science courses; deep understanding of the computer science field; thorough knowledge of Java and at least another programming language (C++ or C# preferred); extensive experience with a non-Object Oriented programming languages (C preferred).
