Director of Financial Aid
Position summary:
This position works closely with students and their families in determining eligibility for financial aid to assist with their education expenses. This person is also responsible for the development of an annual plan for distribution of the financial aid resources of the University; management of financial aid policies and procedures; and gathering, maintaining and distributing essential financial aid data
Responsibilities:
•Responsible for the administration of federal, state, and institutional aid programs according to applicable federal and state regulations and institutional policies and procedures.
•Responsible for overall management of and participation in the day-to-day financial aid operations including, but not limited to, awarding of aid.
•Train, manage, and contribute to the evaluation of professional financial aid staff.
•Provide information, advice, and programmatic support to current and prospective students and their families regarding their financial aid concerns.
•Prepare and verify the data for reports to federal state agencies, University offices and programs, outside agencies that support the University’s recruitment efforts; and to support the Financial Aid Compliance Audit.
•Assist the Dean of Admissions and Student Financial Services and the Dean of Student Services in the development and implementation of retention activities related to financial aid policies and procedures that will impact the enrollment of the University.
•Act as a liaison with outside agencies and vendors in promoting the University’s image and recruitment efforts.
Requirements:
•BA degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
•At least five years of management experience in college financial aid.
