The analyst will report to the director of development and will assume primary responsibility for prospect research on individuals and will also help identify corporate and foundation prospects. He or she will analyze relevant data to set gift capacity ratings, develop research reports, improve prospect management systems, and develop strategies with major gift officers to engage their prospects. The analyst will be able to disseminate information clearly and succinctly, have superior judgment and discretion, and be comfortable taking initiative.  

Responsibilities ( include but are not limited to ):

  • Create intelligence products to grow, refine, and engage the College’s major gift pool
  • Prepare reports for major gift staff, College leadership, or key volunteers
  • Make opportunities for keeping major gifts staff abreast of research methods and sources
  • Manage rating and financial data in donor records
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years in prospect research, ideally with some experience in corporation and foundation research
  • Expertise with research databases, public records, and financial reporting
  • Preferred candidate will have experience with both WealthEngine and Raiser’s Edge
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships across the campus community
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Grade 23
