This job expired 2 months ago.Job Summary In collaboration with the Assistant Vice President of Graduate and Global Recruitment, the Director for International and Study Abroad Services is responsible for the planning, organizing, and implementing an international student recruitment strategy that attracts and retains a sufficient number of qualified applicants to meet university goals.
In addition to providing day-to-day leadership for the International and Study Abroad Services Office, in the absence of the Assistant Vice President, the Director provides expertise on the management of the international student admissions process from conversion of prospective students to deposited, registered, and enrolled students as well as the Study Abroad Program.
Additional responsibilities include:
Working with the International Student Services staff to manage the annual International Student recruitment event schedule, including traveling abroad, domestic/international open-houses/fairs, recruitment presentations, college and university career and transfer fairs, and follow-up programs and events that effect successful enrollment cycles and yield rates.
Responsibility for maintaining regulatory compliance on behalf of the University by advising university International students on matters pertaining to their immigration status, particularly complex immigration regulations and procedures.
Conducting individual and group advisement sessions.
Developing and facilitating workshops and presentations on federal laws, rules and procedures affecting international students through the use of new technologies.
Ensuring all processes related to Roosevelt University compliance with federal regulations are strictly adhered to; consults with and advises program directors, academic advisers, departments, and deans on matters pertaining to enrolled international students; assists in student-focused cultural programming and other related efforts undertaken by the University.
Providing day-to-day leadership for ensuring prompt processing and accurate evaluation of all international admissions applications and applications for study abroad
Overseeing all administrative functions of the International Student Services and Study Abroad office through supervision, providing ongoing professional development and training opportunities, and evaluating all full-time and part-time employees.
Providing advice, workshops and training for campus organizations and departments that impact the ability to International graduate students.
Advising students on study abroad and exchange programs; assists with developing and maintaining study programs abroad; assists with orientations; maintains necessary records; and ensures compliance with University academic, financial and safety standards.
S/he will develop, maintain and periodically update separate procedure/policy manuals for International student recruitment and Study Abroad.
The Director will participate in international student-based organizations and relationships that promote the University and establish and maintains a consistent University presence in targeted recruitment areas. Minimum Qualifications Masters Degree required.
5 to 7 years of higher education administrative experience preferably in international admission/study abroad.
Knowledge and experience with the Banner- preferably in the recruitment module would be ideal. S/he will be an effective communicator, and must be able to effectively work with, communicate to, and assist students and families from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
