Assistant Director of Institutional Research
Reed College is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Director of Institutional Research. This position will work closely with other staff and faculty to assist with data reporting, special studies, survey research, institutional accreditation, and website design and maintenance. The Assistant Director of Institutional Research will serve as a contact for requests for official information about the College, will assist in responding to internal and external data requests, state and federal reporting and requests from private agencies and college guidebook publishers.
Qualified candidates will have a strong background in statistical analysis, spreadsheet applications and database managements systems, will demonstrate critical thinking skills in problem solving and decision making, and is able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with professional colleagues.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelors degree in a social science, business or a directly related field with coursework in statistics and research methods required. A Master’s degree or higher and work experience in higher education is preferred. Some experience in programming, particularly in data extraction or report writing from a central administrative database, experience with SunGuard Banner, Oracle, Datatel or other large-scale relational database; experience in website design and development, proficiency in an analytical software package such as SPSS, SAS or STATA.
