The incumbent's role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core departmental functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. The incumbent will also act as the department's Database Administrator in designing, installing, monitoring and maintaining the department's Tele-Management and Ancillary system databases. The incumbent will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the efficiency and accuracy of departmental operations. The incumbent will be expected to research new technologies and provide technical leadership for new initiatives, including VoIP / Unified Communications, Voice Recording, E-911, Automated Call Distribution, security cameras and various other telecom related technologies. Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and at least three years related technical experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
*Demonstrated communication skills along with the ability to interact with a diverse group of management and staff.
*Demonstrated ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple projects at the same time.
*Ability to coordinate work flow and insure projects are moving in a timely manner.
*Thorough knowledge of relational databases with experience in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
*Demonstrated knowledge of Server Oriented Architectures (SOA) and web application technologies (PHP, J2EE, AJAX, PERL).
*Ability to travel to all Temple University campuses, if necessary.
*Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
*Valid driver's license.
