The Administrative Specialist provides administrative support to clinical leadership in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology. Under general supervision, completes administrative tasks, such as; screens incoming calls and correspondence and responds independently when possible, creates and maintains database and spreadsheet files, maintains physician office schedule, communicates with all levels of internal staff and external customers including referring physicians, directs preparation of records such as agenda, notices, minutes, patient records, takes and transcribes dictation as needed, and composes and prepares confidential correspondence, reports, and other complex documents, arranges complex and detailed travel plans and itineraries, compiles documents for travel-related meetings, and accompanies supervisor when requested, prepares and reviews forms and specialized reports. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and at least two years of directly related experience in an office setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
•Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
•Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
•Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
•Ability to prioritize well and focus on completion of tasks and objectives.
•Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
•Experience in a medical office setting.
