The Asian University for Women is an emerging regional center of excellence that offers a liberal arts education and leadership development to young women from all across Asia and the Middle East, regardless of background. Currently, AUW has over 400 students from 12 countries throughout the region, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, the People's Republic of China, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. The University is in its fifth year of operations.

ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN ASIAN HISTORY

The Asian University for Women invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Asian History, with a specialty in South Asian, Southeast Asian, or East Asian History, beginning in August 2013. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or be on track to receive a Ph.D. prior to appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to offer broadly-conceived introductory courses in the core curriculum, as well as more advanced courses within areas of her/his specialization as part of AUW’s interdisciplinary Asian Studies program. The teaching load is five courses per year. Additional expectations include: advising senior thesis projects, pursuit of scholarly interests and service to the university.
