CAMPUS SAFETY OFFICER (2 Vacancies)

Under direct supervision, the purpose of the job is to enforce local, state, and federal laws, and ensures compliance with college policies. Provides security for personnel, real property, and equipment. Investigates and documents crimes/incidents, documents and preserves evidence, and provides legal testimony. Maintain a safe and secure learning and working environment, promote staff development and ensure public awareness of health and safety issues. Performs related work as directed.
Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum Experience/Training: Typically one year of functional experience in related field of work preferred.
Minimum Certification: CPR certification required
Class D Guard license or active law enforcement certification required.
Class E Driver's license required.
Successfully pass the Nelsen Denny examination to demonstrate a proficiency in reading comprehension and vocabulary.
Certification in emergency first aid preferred.
Ability to use evacuation chair, fire extinguishers and golf carts required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of all systems and procedures relevant to the position which includes fire alarms, intrusion alarms, CCTV, purge systems, key control, emergency procedures, physical structures, in addition to policies and procedures.
• Ability to work with a diverse population including students, faculty and staff and the general public.
• General knowledge about law enforcement.
