As the role of faculty continues to evolve, responsibilities and expectations transform appropriately. A partial listing of faculty responsibilities includes curriculum development, assessment activities, appropriate use of technology to enhance student learning, participation on committees, academic advisement of students, mentoring and collaboration with colleagues, as well as participation in recruitment and retention activities. Faculty members are also expected to have flexible schedules to adjust to the needs of the student population, and to be open to exploring alternative teaching modalities.
Full-time, tenure-line position on the Jamestown campus with coordinator duties for music at all sites. Ability to teach a full range of courses in music including music survey, music theory, aural skills, and performing ensembles. Ability to use technology to enhance course offerings; demonstrated leadership ability. Position will begin August 2013.
Required: Master’s degree in music. Record of personal performance in voice or an instrument. Demonstration of leadership and organizational skills to oversee music programs.
Preferred: Teaching experience; community college experience; experience in teaching online and/or via multi-site modalities.
