Nature of Work: The Administrative Assistant will provide the administrative and secretarial knowledge and skills necessary to support activities both Global Programs and Language Institute, especially attending to study abroad and International Education activities. Work in this area will require the exercise of independent judgment and highly developed technical and interpersonal skills.
Training and Experience: A minimum of four years' experience in related duty post is required with preferably an Associate of Arts Diploma. Preferred candidate would have successfully completed courses in technical writing, advanced composition, business communications, data processing software applications, typewriting and general office procedures. Considerable knowledge of personal computers and software programs such as Power Point, Microsoft Excel and Word; effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills is required.

Illustrative Examples of Work: The successful staff member will attend to Global Programs and Language Institute's activities as follows: Assists in recruiting and registering students for various Study Abroad Programs, Assists in planning and implementing workshops, trainings, International Education Week activities, Prepares travel documents, requisition forms, and other such documents necessary for executing programs' activities, Attends meetings and timely documents and reports minutes,
Writes various technical communication documents: emails, memos, agendas, reports and other such documents necessary for implementing programs and projects of the department, develops brochures, newsletters, and promotional literatures, Handles student inquiries and directs students to appropriate resources for Study Abroad, Fulbright and other International Education Programs, assists in generating reports, maintaining documents and databases, and handling general administrative/secretarial responsibilities of the office; processes all paperwork and documents needed to support program's objectives and two directors' activities, performs other duties, as required.
