Job Description
The newly established School of Communication and Media at Montclair State University invites applications for a senior faculty appointment in Filmmaking at the associate or full professor rank. The successful candidate will help to add stability, leadership, and vision to the program. Specialists in film production, ideally with a strong background in Cinematography, are invited to apply. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in a newly redesigned filmmaking BFA program that emphasizes narrative. The program is located within the new School, and the successful candidate will work closely with the School's Director and provide academic and managerial leadership for the program which currently serves approximately 170 majors. Responsibilities include academic advisement, internship supervision, student worker supervision, course planning, and the hiring and supervision of adjunct professors. The successful candidate will head the program and work with other concentration heads that function as a management team within the School, reporting to the Director.
Qualifications & Requirements
M.F.A. in Film or related field; evidence of teaching excellence, and a strong record indicating commitment to creative activities and academic management.
