The Division of Administration and Finance is seeking an Event Manager for Event and Conference Services to be responsible for the development, management, and execution of small to large student and university staff events as well as high school commencements and summer programs.
Responsibilities: Manage events by maintaining monthly event schedule and assisting with distribution of function folders to event team; finalizing event details; assuring guest satisfaction; completing financial details; and hosting post-event evaluation meetings. This position will also maintain strong credibility with campus operations; provide a safe environment for guests; secure and supervise staff; possess a strong knowledge of policies and procedures; assist in hiring, training, and developing new event managers, graduate assistants, and interns; and perform all related duties incidental to the work described.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year in organizing, planning, and executing events. The position also requires skill in problem solving, as well as the ability to communicate effectively, foster strong working relationships, and provide exceptional customer service. The successful candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
