Manager - Professional Development (#9444) UP
Job Functions
Hires, supervises and evaluates support and student worker staff.
Organizes, implements and evaluates campus-wide professional development activities and technology training for faculty and staff.
Provides support to the faculty in developing, implementing, and evaluating instructional design initiatives.
Coordinates the development and support of full-time and adjunct faculty training.
Develops and delivers professional development workshops and courses.
Facilitates the dissemination and sharing of multi-media, distance education, and other instructional initiatives to other faculty.
Determines and employs "best practices" for meeting the needs of the learners.
Designs and implements a method of tracking the professional development of each faculty and staff member.
With academic and operational managers, identifies development needs of each faculty and staff member and facilitates development of individual professional development plans.
Provides information for budgeting purposes and track expenditures against budgeted provisions.
Establishes methods to understand and be conversant with current scholarship of teaching, professional development and instructional technology trends.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher and at least 3 years of college and/or adult education teaching experience, or equivalent.
Experience in developing and delivering professional training.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Intimate knowledge of authoring and other multi-media programs and processes.
Knowledge of computer systems and multimedia devices required.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office package, or willingness to take Microsoft Office course.
Strong interpersonal skills and multicultural consciousness.
Demonstrated ability to track and adhere to budget.
Demonstrated awareness of professional development trends, especially those focused on instructional technology
