FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Music discipline within the Department of Performing and Fine Arts at York College/ CUNY seeks a teacher and scholar with a completed PhD or DMA in music theory or composition for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2013.
The successful candidate will teach ear training, music theory, and upper-level classes (for example, analysis, composition, and instrumentation); be engaged in professional activity (including scholarship); and provide service to the Department and College. The successful candidate may teach introductory music history when needed. To address the large student interest, preference may be given to candidates with a background and/or experience in guitar.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. or DMA in Music Theory or Composition is required. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
