Worship Arts, Assistant Professor (tenure track)

This is a full time faculty position to teach undergraduate courses in the Arts and Science Academic Division. Courses include but are not limited to Technology in Worship, Worship Planning and Administration, and Worship in the Church. This position reports to the Music Department Chair and VP/Academic Affairs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
•Teach core worship arts classes: Technology in Worship, Worship Planning and Administration, and Worship in the Church.
•Teach other courses in theory, contemporary theory and/or related subjects.
•Recruit new music students.
•Mentor Bachelor of Music in Worship Arts majors and minors.
•Supervise worship practicums and internships.
•Participate in Chapel Worship Ministry, working closely with campus chaplain.
•General faculty responsibilities that include, participation in Music Department and faculty meetings, academic advising and guidance of students, committee assignments, scheduled 10 hours of office hours per week for student availability
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Ability to teach music theory, contemporary theory and related classes.
•Desire to mentor young people.
•Strong interpersonal skills and positive energy regarding education.
•Established ability to work effectively as a team member.
•Demonstrated excellence in spoken, written and electronic communication skills.
•Skill in integrating teaching with the evangelical worldview.
•Be in agreement with the Crown College Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•Masters Degree in Worship Arts or music related field.
•3 years teaching experience in higher education.
•Experience in Worship Pastorate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to the above minimum qualifications):
•Terminal degree in Music or related field.
•5+ years teaching experience in Christian higher education.
