President
On Chicago’s richly diverse Northwest side, Wilbur Wright College (wright.ccc.edu) offers associate degree programs, vocational training, ESL and GED programs as well as personal enrichment courses. Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Chancellor Cheryl Hyman announced in 2012 that, in addition to its general education programs, Wright College will have a College to Careers focus on information technology and will partner with industry leaders including: Cisco, CompTIA, Google, IfbyPhone, Motorola Solutions and Vibes, to update curriculum and introduce students to careers in this fast-growing field. The College served more than 23,000 students in 2012 – the highest enrollment within the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) system – and recently reaffirmed its accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission. Wright College prides itself on its sustainability practices and was recognized with the bronze standard of sustainability goals in higher education by the Illinois Campus Sustainability Compact.
