The Student Affairs (SA) Group is responsible for providing student support services and building partnerships and collaborations with students, faculty, and staff by developing and implementing systems and processes to enhance student success, retention, and graduation at Sinclair Community College. SA is in direct support of the academic mission and serves as a bridge between Instruction and the students. The Director is responsible for providing the leadership, vision, and transformation of the SA Group and is responsible for establishing the workflow, job descriptions, reporting mechanisms and accountabilities for all other personnel with respect to the position. The incumbent is the budget supervisor for the departmental functions.
This is a high-level position supervising the following departments: Disability Services, Career Services, Student Leadership/Judicial Affairs, the Center for Student Success, Student Ombudsman, Student Support Services (TRIO), and Tutorial Services. The Director of Student Affairs will be reporting directly to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. The position requires a high degree of self-sufficiency, self-directedness and personal motivation to accomplish not only divisional objectives, but to meet and/or exceed Board of Trustee and college enrollment and retention targets.
This position requires an individual to provide leadership, inspiration, initiation, and support to align multi-department units with institutional and divisional goals and objectives. It requires a high degree of personal commitment to a student-centered, student-success learning environment.
The incumbent must demonstrate a superior grasp of the community college mission and be able to translate that understanding into concrete, actionable and attainable enrollment and retention objectives for the college and the students that it serves.
· Master's degree required
· 3 years Student Affairs or student retention management experience required
