Saint Joseph’s College is conducting a national search for Director of Financial Aid. Reporting to the Dean of Admission, the Director of Financial Aid serves on the management team for admissions and financial aid. He/she is responsible for compliance with federal and state regulations, administering and managing a highly personalized financial aid process for the on-campus and online programs. Along with the Dean and the Director of Admissions, develops strategies to optimize aid resources that will positively impact enrollment and net revenue goals.

The primary role of the Director of Financial Aid includes: providing exceptional leadership to an experienced and dedicated team of four financial aid professionals; administering financial aid programs in excess of $24 million; formulating the needs analysis and packaging strategies for new and returning students (on-campus and online); representing the College on campus as well as externally at both the local and national level; advising the dean on industry trends, financial aid best practices, and strategy development; administering endowed scholarships; collaborating with the Admissions Office in selecting merit-based scholars; partnering with key administrative campus offices (Athletics, Controller's Office, Dean of the College, Dean of Students, Registrar, Development, Finance & Administration, and Information Technology) coordinating the completion of surveys and reports for regulatory agencies and college offices; and serving on the various college-wide committees.
The selected candidate will be a highly regarded strategic thinker on how financial aid can be best utilized to achieve the strategic goals of the College. Other qualifications include: a bachelor's degree with seven or more years of related experience in financial aid, admissions or enrollment management; proven leadership ability and a keen attention to detail; superior analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills, familiarity with enterprise-type systems such as PowerFaids, Campus Café, literacy with MS office and PC applications, experience and understanding of both federal and institutional methodologies; and a strong understanding of emerging technologies and industry trends. Fluency in more than one language is desirable. The Director of Financial Aid will also be expected to lead a highly personalized operation with a hands-on management style.
