Assistant Professor of Psychology. Clinical/counseling or related area preferred. Other areas considered, related to our five concentration areas within the major: General, Counseling, Mind/Body Health, Life Span Development, and Human Resource Management. We are a student-centered academic department that prepares undergraduate students for entry-level applied positions and advanced study in psychology and related disciplines.

Qualifications
Minimum requirements: Ph.D. or equivalent in psychology from a regionally accredited (or foreign equivalent) university, clinical/counseling preferred, other areas considered (degree must be completed before commencing employment); evidence of recent effective college-level teaching experience; and completion of a successful campus interview (which includes a demonstration of teaching skills). Additional qualifications: Ability to adapt to changing technologies that support teaching and learning; demonstration of excellent communication skills (verbal and written); demonstration of ability to develop a strong program of scholarly activity; ability to work collaboratively with others; and demonstration, through past accomplishments and behaviors, of the ability to support Mansfield University’s principles and values of Character, Scholarship, Culture, Service (http://www1.mansfield.edu/mansfield-creed [3]) and the University’s strong student-centered vision and mission. The quality of applicants’ graduate program preparation and performance will be considered. Other conditions of employment include verification of all earned degrees through the receipt of original transcripts and an acceptable background check report.

Essential Functions
Teaching and advising, continued scholarly growth, and service to the department, university, and community. Effective communication skills and use of electronic teaching technology. Work cooperatively with staff, faculty and administration. Ability to use software application programs such as word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail and effective use of phone, keyboard and other office equipment. May be required to lift, stand, walk, reach with arms, etc.

Status

Setting
Located in the beautiful mountains of rural, north central Pennsylvania, Mansfield University, currently enrolling approximately 3,200 students, including more than 400 graduate students, is a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. Founded in 1857 as Mansfield Classical Seminary, Mansfield University is proud of its long tradition of preparing excellent teachers, as well as its more recent role as a public liberal arts university focused on leadership development. The university is located within Tioga County, home to five state and federal parks, seven lakes, and the 50-mile long gorge of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.
