The Center for Integrative Geosciences seeks a full-time Program Assistant II, UCP IV to serve under the general direction of the Center Director. The successful candidate will provide responsible administrative support as well as significant program support for a busy interdisciplinary center. This is a very independent position and will require a great deal of coordination as participating faculty members are extended across the campuses. Duties include: oversight and overall coordination of educational administration including course scheduling and assisting students with all aspects of their program; day-to-day running of the department, processing and maintaining necessary paperwork including fiscal and personnel records; serve as a resource to students, staff and external constituencies on some matters relating to the undergraduate program/graduate program; assemble data, write and/or edit reports; maintain a collection of resource materials and program information; manage special projects as required; coordinate activities in the director's absence; manage the content of the center website.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Geology or Geography; 3-5 years related experience in a demonstrating considerable knowledge of administrative methods and subject area. Demonstrated ability to independently provide significant program support. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; Excellent, up to date computer skills with Microsoft, Adobe & web design programs.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work with a variety of students, staff and faculty; Experience with Dreamweaver, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Acrobat, Photoshop, and other programs such as Navicat, Quark, Elements, and Illustrator. Knowledge of programs same/similar to KUALI, FRS for financial processing; Knowledge of programs same/similar to Peoplesoft, HuskyCT, etc.
This is a full-time, 12-month position.
