The Director of Student Financial Aid Services invites applications for a permanent full-time, 12-month position of Administrative Services Specialist III - Loan Coordinator (UCP 5). Responsibilities will include: using the PeopleSoft system, provide assistance to the Assistant Director of Loan Programs by maintaining all aspects of the Alternative student loan programs and assist with administration of Federal Direct student loans, processing student loans, coordinating aspects of Perkins, Direct, and Alternative student loan administration with the Office of the Bursar, developing and interpreting procedures and policies, participating in office outreach activities, including school visits with lenders, and acting as liaison between the school and private student lenders, all other duties as required. Independently resolves loan delivery issues of varying complexity, and coordinates the Title VII Nurse Faculty Loan Program.
Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience OR Associate's degree and four to seven years progressively responsible related experience; ability to interpret policies and procedures; strong written and oral communication skills; strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to interact effectively with the public, the University community, and external constituencies; demonstrated ability to work independently and under time constraints; experience working with financial aid and/or student loans; demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, and willingness to work irregular hours during peak periods.
Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of Oracle Student Administration (PeopleSoft); experience working in a large four year public institution; demonstrated ability to periodically resolve loan issues of varying degrees of familiarity and difficulty.
This is a full-time, 12-month position. Salary range is low to mid $40's (commensurate with experience).
