Applications are invited for a non-tenure track Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor position in the Division of Pharmacy Practice. The individual will have teaching responsibilities in the undergraduate pharmacy program. This is a full or part-time renewable appointment under the Contract Academic Staff: Teaching Agreement, with primarily teaching and service responsibilities. Clinical practice and scholarly activities are encouraged.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching, coordinating, student assessment and delivery of course material with a focus on practice skills courses and labs; assuring course objectives are aligned with defined educational outcomes and accreditation standards; committee and other service work to the Faculty and the profession. Practice skill courses are a key component in the curriculum, linking to therapeutic modules and clinical placements and providing students with the core patient care skills required for pharmacy practice in Alberta.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of current clinical pharmacy practice. Preference will be given to candidates with a Pharm.D. degree or Clinical Pharmacy Master’s degree and postdoctoral experience. Applicants with other advanced pharmacy qualifications such as completion of a residency program will also be considered. Applicants must be licensed, or eligible for licensure, by the Alberta College of Pharmacists.
The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences offers one of the strongest pharmacy degree programs in Canada. The Faculty annually admits 130 student pharmacists to the BSc program, up to 30 to the PharmD program, and currently has 62 graduate students.
